It could also be something called Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. Or BPPV. Look it up to see if it sounds like what you got and then go to your doctor and ask if they can confirm it. There's simple physio for it, that's successful in most cases. I was suggested that for my vertigo if it continued to be bad despite medication.

I heard this sort of thing back in my day too - the late 70's. The JWs were viewed very positively by anyone involved in the facilities they hired for their assemblies and conventions. To be fair, they are great at treating the properties with respect and cleaning up after themselves really well. That's all anyone wants whenever they rent out their property, whether it's a large convention center, or a pokey little rental house. Good tenants are worth their weight in gold. -

Welcome! What a great story. It's great that your wife is so reasonable and loving as to give your marriage a chance. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with you too.
My dad wasn't so lucky, unfortunately, despite being reasonable and understanding. He also told my mother that the JWs weren't his thing but he was fully supportive of her choice to be one. Except my mother couldn't abide that. And that was the end of their marriage. It broke my dad's heart. And mine too, when I saw how it hurt him, a good man.
All the best to you and your family!

I wouldn't mess with that. I had vertigo last year and still get the occasional minor relapse but that was from a severe concussion. A good friend of mine is suffering from it badly due to a tumor called an acoustic neuroma. Slow-growing, benign tumor in her brain that can cause hearing loss, facial paralysis and worse if left to grow. She's due for surgery in a few weeks.
Go see a doctor. In my case, I was prescribed pills that minimized the vertigo when it was bad - meclizine.\
Good luck with that.

Happy Anniversary. That's an anniversary worth celebrating. It doesn't just mark a date but the freedom and relief that your life and your mind are your own. -

Conversation with ultra dub relative. Pure quality this one
by joe134cd inif any one has been taking note of my posts, it could be said that i often mention conversations i have had with dubbies.
in some ways not been dfed has allowed me to gain some real in sight into how they think and their justification for things.
the following is a conversation i just had with an ultra super dub relative, and to be honest i don't know weather i should be laughing or crying over it.. relative: the rc this year is going to be held in the assembly hall.

There you have JW delusion at its finest. I'd have been creeped out by that conversation. It's disturbing how the mind can be totally locked up in the dark like that. -

Just a short observation on self inflicted misery.
by Human Being ini used to post on this site a few years back but after moving on personally and being shunned by my only remaining family member for the last 4-5 years i the j.w's became just background noise to me.
yet yesterday something happened that brought back to me the degree of control this cult has over it's members.
a new wall mart recently opened in my little mountain town here in northern georgia, u.s. as i headed across the parking lot on my way into the store the heat was intense, wit a humidity factor of around 90%.

Yes, I think by allowing that sort of activity on their property, Walmart would be liable if anything happened, so a lawsuit against them could very well work. It is self-inflicted stupidity but a lot of that often wins in the court these days. -

Sounds like this was a case of a couple of old farts having a regular chin-wag, especially since it's been going on for years.
Maybe he wasn't interested in you or anyone else because he was there for his regular chit chat session with your FIL.

A difficult yet necessary decision
by Brother Jeramy inthe past five weeks have been perhaps the most painful in my life as a witness.. some months ago a young man (i'd say in his late thirties or early forties) began attending meetings at my kingdom hall.
he had just moved to my area from another state.
he had disassociated himself from his home congregation many years back, when he was 20 years old and going through many of the typical trials and temptations most young men experience.. two of the elders met with him initially, and they later shared the details with the body of elders.

umbertoecho: An acquaintance of mine was re instated within months. Her father is an elder. I always wondered about that. She has been reproved time after time since then.
Wondered about what? That as an elder's kid, they're special snowflakes who get away with more than the riff-raff? Yup. I saw that hypocrisy time and time again in my KH. That was one thing of many things that convinced me it was a corrupt and rotten mob and got me firmly on the path of getting the hell out.
